| [October 2003]: High Bulk Density Grade of L-HPC | ||||
Shin-Etsu has launched a new grade of its dual-functional excipient L-HPC (Low-substituted hydroxypropylcellulose NF). L-HPC is widely used as a disintegrant/binder for tablets, granules and other pharmaceutical solid dosage forms. This new grade "LH-B1" has a higher density and better flowability, thus making it more suitable for direct compression and fluid-bed granulation with a high load amount of the excipient. [September 2002]: Granular type Pharmacoat 606G |
We would like to introduce you to a new grade of Pharmacoat 606G from Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd. It can dissolve within 30 minutes under ordinary stirring conditions at room temperature. It also has an excellent flowability with dust-free handling. Pharmacoat 606G is going to be commercialized as a compendial product from October 2002. For further information and to download a brochure click on more information at the bottom of this text box.
The left side picture (regular Pharmacoat) shows most of the powder floating on the surface forming aggregates or lumps, which makes it take a longer time to complete dissolution. The right side picture (Pharmacoat 606G) shows the granules can immediately disperse into water and thus exhibit better dissolution. The new grade complies with the USP requirements.
